GS1 Standards
GS1 standards are a foundation for business by uniquely identifying, accurately capturing and automatically sharing information about products, locations, and assets in a uniform way.
The best known of these standards is the barcode, a symbol printed on products that can be scanned electronically.
All products need a unique identification number from GS1 to be able to sell them online or in stores.
