Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)

Consumer packaged goods (CPG) is a retail industry term for merchandise that customers use up and replace on a frequent basis. Examples of consumer packaged goods include food, beverages, cosmetics, health and beauty, and cleaning products.

Most center store products in a supermarket. Consumer packaged goods can be either national brands, private label or store branded.

The term is also used to refer to the companies who make these products. For example, Coca Cola is a CPG company.
